THE 1970 AUTOMATIC DIVER’S
The 1970 Diver’s Re-creation Limited Edition
AN ICON RE-IMAGINED
The 1970 Seiko Ref. 6105 was one of the most memorable timepieces of its era thanks to its exceptional strength and unique design. The iconic diver’s watch featured an asymmetrical case made with a wide, flowing design to protect the crown at the 4 o’clock position.
The original 1970 automatic diver's watch was worn by Japanese adventurer Naomi Uemura when he embarked on a solo dog-sled run from Greenland to Alaska, a journey of 12,000 kilometers that took eighteen months.
MODERN DAY PROFESSIONAL SPECIFICATIONS
The upgraded re-creation of the celebrated original is equipped with Seiko’s 8L35 automatic caliber - specifically designed for use in diver’s watches, providing up to 50 hours of power reserve.
A FAITHFUL HOMAGE
The new Prospex tribute remains faithful to the design of the original, now offered with a larger case size for a more contemporary style. The case is crafted of stainless steel with a super-hard coating and topped with a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, while the upper surface of the bezel rim is Zaratsu polished to provide a perfect mirror finish.
